Just had an alignment at 775 miles...

Car kept pulling to one side, then the other. Brand new TRDORP with KDSS.

Left Front Toe Angle .49
Right Front Toe Angle .48
Total Toe Angle .96
Caster set way too far back.

Anybody else have this issue on their new 4R?

Yes, the dealer had mine for a week trying to align my 4r. 300 miles on the odo, alignment was off since day 0 (I don't know how in the hell it passed the QC inspection on the assembly line). Dealer called and told me that they have aligned my vehicle a half dozen times and cannot get it to drive straight down the road. Then magically the shop lead took a look at it and he had it driving straight in an hour.

I'm happy to have my vehicle back, but come on guys, I thought Toyotas were supposed to be perfect!

Had a similar issue. I tried to get Firestone to align mine after I changed out the suspension. They tried twice and couldnt get it to drive straight. Took it to Toyota and they got it perfect on the first try.

Mine was out day 1. I drove home, looked at my GF and said it needs an alignment. Apparently it happens more frequently with the TRD wheels and tires (my guess because they are added at port, not at the plant).

My tech was awesome though. Took it in this am, rode with him, and he immediately said that it needed an alignment. He had it in the KDSS spec in less than an hour.

It shouldn’t have taken a week. That’s horrible.

The '15 must have been out from the start but only noticed it after a few thousand miles when the tires were wearing inside I believe. Now I don't chance it and get it done within the first week or so of purchase and whenever purchasing new tires. Mechanic said the '18 was toed in a bit but also said that is what they usually do from the factory. He set it up straight.

Took it the dealer last week for an alignment/tire balance and nothing was resolved! Taking it back tomorrow and a different tech is supposed to work on it.


I did put swap on 3,000 miles old K02's (stock size) from my last 4Runner but this should not affect alignment/pull to one side right?

Same here, have a 18 orp... didn’t notice the issue until we went for a 3k miles road trip. The thing keeps pulling to the right. Going to call dealer to have them take a look. Thought it was my new rim and ko2, put on the stock rims/tires and still same thing.

Correct. The only caveat to this is if the tire pressure is vastly different on one side vs the other. Ensure they are all equal to eliminate that variable.

Agreed. I was tempted to have them just give it back to me as is and I'd do it myself in my garage!

Drastic tire pressure or imperfection with the tire.
