I wish I would of known for whatever reason Toyota does not make dust caps for rear axles..

The reason is simple- there is nothing on the rear axle for dust to get into from hub. Dust caps are to keep dust out of seals/bearings- there are no seals/bearing on the end of a semi-float axle.
The reason you are disappointed is that SCS doesn't include center caps with the F5.

4.5" backspace will be fine for those tires. Not sure about the exact height difference between 285/75r16 and 285/70r17, but my 17s are fine rub-wise. No pounding pinch welds. I did cut a portion of my bumper corner/flare off.

I still manage to get between 18 and 20 MPG. It's about weight. I have super light wheels (FN wheels) and P-metric tires vs LT tires. Makes a big difference.

I am currently gathering parts and getting ready to lift my 3rd gen and you just completely eliminated and doubts that I had about how/if to install myself. I'm pretty mechanically inclined (I'm a machinist) but I'm not gonna lie, I was intimidated by the upper ball joint removal. I'm gonna get new upper an lower bj's, tie rod ends, and energy suspension bushings and take care of it all in one shot. Also looks like your not too far away.
