Hi all,

Just wanted to say thanks in helping me make the decesion regarding my new purchase, a 2005 Black V8 Sport 4x4! I was on the line between the 4runner and the new Pathfinder.....so glad I stuck it out with Toyota! Currently had a 99 Dodge Ram with all the goodies on it, fabtech lift, complete Alpine System with Navi, etc. going to miss my old ride but not the mpg or ride quality!

Was the black sheep of the family, as we have a '97 4runner, Sisters 94' Celica (300k miles on it and still running like a champ), Bro's 01 GT-S Celica, 99 LS-400 and a 02 GS-400. All and all we have a pretty solid Toyota collection over here and had basically 0 problems! Thanks again for all your input on these boards, Im an addict now!

Mike, although I am a newbie myself. Allow me to say, Welcome! I have enjoyed this site and have already performed a few modifications that I have found.

I do look forward to posting a picture of my rig, especially after I badged her up nicely (shh... don't tell Sharp4runner).

Welcome aboard bro. Good choice on the 4Runner and I don't say that because I'm biased. One of the guys I carpool with has the 2005 Pathfinder and I don't like it as much. The leg room in the middle row is awful compared to the 4Runner and I'm a pretty short guy that doesn't need much leg room. The plastics in the interior didn't feel as nice either. Power was good in it, but probably comparable to the V8 4Runner and a bit stronger than my V6. Still when it comes down to it, its not a Toyota. And what were you thinking by straying from Toyota ;):

You will be VERY happy with the 4Runner.

I'll bet the V6 4Runner will run right with the Pathfinder. The pathfinder is over 4800 lbs.

I just joined the club, too! (are we talking this forum or buying a 4Runner?)

I ordered a Black 2005 Limited V8 4x4 last week. The dealer gave me a 3 month estimate as far as the wait time but after reading some other people's experiences I'm not holding my breath.

This forum is a fantastic information source!! The only bad thing about it is that it makes you desire some options you originally might not have considered. The car I ordered has Nav, Sunroof, and XREAS. I also had to get Side Airbags and a spoiler, neither of which I wanted, but the dealer said the regional guys only order them configured a certain way and I didn't want to wait until the '06 models came out.

I'll be paying a hefty sum for this as the dealers in Houston don't seem to like ordering very much. But I doubt I'll regret the purchase.

Now to find one of the numerous "V6 vs. V8" forums so I can throw my test drive experiences in there.....

And hope you saved up $$$ you're going to need it for the mods
 
Thanks all! I should have learned my lesson with the Chrystler line when we had our '94 Grand Cherokee......boy was that puppy a handful! Fortunately though, my truck ran great for the 104k miles I had on it. Definitely agree with you on the Pathfinder, it felt 'tinny' if that makes sense, and the interior had a cheap feeling to it unlike the solid feeling of the 4runner. I noticed this especially when closing the doors. Thanks again guys for all the information- this has become a daily ritual now searching through the forums. I will get a pic up of my new rig, with the newly mounted yakima bike rack on top, looks real sweet with the jet black specialized enduro on top! Money wise it looks like itll be a while before I have enough for that eclipse 5494 I believe it is!

Welcome to the board and good luck with your new truck! Smart choice in going for the 4Runner over the Pathfinder. I think the new Pathfinders are ugly. Post some pics when you have a chance!
 
Hello people!!

Newbie here too... Just picked up an 05 SR5, Grey. I totally love it!! it's my first SUV and I picked over the Pathfinder. I felt it drove smoother, looked better and I got what i think is a great deal for 24,600$!!!!

Where did you go to get such an outstanding price? Is it a 4x4?
