Hey everyone! Just wanted to say I love this forum and all of the great info posted here. Been lurking for a while learning about the 4R platform since November and finally found the one I wanted. Fell in love with the 09-13 TE and had to find one in black. Got a one owner 70k mile 2013 and an hoping it last for many more years/miles to come. Love the truck already.

Welcome from another '13 TE owner. I just picked mine up a few months ago after having a '99 for a number of years. Been having lots of fun modding it, driving it and looking forward to getting some TRAIL action in soon.

Woo! Welcome! I just got my '12 TE back in November and absolutely love it! Hope you have lots of money to dump into it.... the addiction is real!

Congrats. I ordered my 2013 and took delivery in Sept. of 2012. 55K, no problems, no rattles, it just runs like a Toyota. It has been through some rough trails, sand and snow and it's going great. Enjoy yours.

Thanks for all the encouraging words guys! Plans to do lift, tires, wheels sometime next year once I’m not poor again from this purchase...but will thoroughly enjoy reading here getting ideas as I wait!

I have to say it really is an addiction. Even though this car is mostly a family / weekend truck and not what I daily drive, I feel the bug enough that I’m looking at getting a 3rd gen just to be able to play around with it more and do stupid things. My boys are 15 months and 3.5 yrs old so I’m hoping once they’re a bit older we can make a hobby out of hitting trails / hiking / maybe even camping eventually. Western NC seems like an ideal place to have a truck like this!
 
So here’s a q for the hive mind (dont want to start a new thread). What’s the best solution if I want to put suitcases on the roof? Is there a clean way to accomplish this? Do I definitely need a Gobi or a baja and tie downs? If so which tie downs would be the least hassle?
 
Same here just got my 5th gen in December after owning a 3rd gen for a couple years. Love my new TRD OFF ROAD
