Hey all, I'm new to posting at T4R, but have been reading it for a few months now.
I'm new to the 4Runner community, but I've always like 4runners, especially the 02+ design.
Anyhow, I just ordered an 05 4Runner Limited 2WD V8 in Titanium (light silver) with taupe interior for my fiance. According to the guy we ordered it through, production hasn't even started for the 05 model year, but he was still able to take orders. He told us it could be as late as mid-december before we got the truck, but hopefully it'd be a month or more earlier than that.
We ordered it with the V8, side and curtain airbags, X-reas, JBL synthesis stereo, and then a couple of small things like floormats/cargo mats and daytime running lights. Every limited model we've ever seen on the dealer lots came with a sunroof and spoiler. We specifically told them we did not want those options, as we both think the spoiler is a little odd and not worth the extra money, and my fiance would never use the sunroof enough to justify the 7-800 extra dollars, plus we'd prefer to have the extra headroom.
The guy we ordered from also wasn't sure if the price was going to go up or down from the 04s, or whatever other changes would be made to the models themselves, but said we would be notified as soon as he found out . Personally I'm really hoping they add VVT-i to our V8, as they will be doing in the Tundra. Matter o' fact I'm guessing they will since the i-Forces found in all Toyota/Lexus vehicles are all made in the exact same assembly area, and only minor changes are made to each motor depending on the model.
Just thought I'd share the good news.
I'm happy she decided to go with the Toyota... she was also looking at the GMC Envoy and she prefered the way they looked inside, but I myself have owned a couple of GM vehicles in recent years and am much happier with my current Toyota from a comfort/quality/durability standpoint. (My car)
