I just ordered a trails ed. in Black. It should arrive in three to four months, Special order from Japan.

Also picked up some 275/70 R17 MT/R's and a Yakima load warrior rack for it last week.

...Special order from Japan.

"Special order..." What was that about?

I learnt that Toyota does not accept "special" orders for any trims other than listed on their Website.

I was trying to order TE without a moonroof and a hood scoop to no avail.

BTW, congrats with a new toy. Enjoy!

What you can build on the website is what you can commonly find on the dealer's lot in your area. For example, in my area, building a TE means that nav and KDSS are "standard". If you place an order, though, you can get a TE with or without both items.

For instance, last month, when I built an SR5 w/ 25070, the only option was with or without premium package. The backup camera, upgraded stereo, and power seats were standard for my area. Building one today, there are like 5 different configurations.

Ordering a TE w/out a moonroof or scoop isn't possible because that is standard for all TEs in the US.

"Ordering a TE w/out a moonroof or scoop isn't possible..." - Well, that is my problem. Besides that both tings are totally useless in my opinion, the moonroof, on top of that, chews up a headroom a bit (I am 6'6" tall guy, so each inch difference makes difference for me).
Even my 2000 Ford Explorer is much roomier in that regards.

Oh, well, I still want 2010 4Runner, which was ordered already anyway.

no such thing as a "special order" from Toyota... they call it a "preference" order and you can't have it built with non-standard equipment like without a hood-scoop or sunroof on a trail edition, or with SR5 rims instead of the 20"s on a Limited, for example.

PS: this should have been a reply to dron, not the OP.

I wish that were true for my area, In my whole city theirs only 4 toyota dealerships. Each one only has 3-4 4runners, no trails (the kind I want), mostly limiteds and sr5s without sunroofs (second option i want a sr5 w/sunroof). I have located a black sr5 4x4 w/sunroof, but it has that nasty tan cloth interior, no thanks.

O and congrats on the TE!!!!!

I am 6'2 and drive a 2010 Explorer as my work vehicle. At the end of the day I feel I can strech out in my TE. The moonroof ceiling should be the same height as the others. it comes out the top.
