Just ordered some bilsteins

Hey guys, I spent tons of hours searching for some replacement shocks. I searched tokico,kyb's,even monroes and gabriels. Well today Im done searching. I just ended up buying the billies. Should of just done that in the first place. After seeing some bad reviews on most of the shocks the billies were always praised. I decided to spend more just to do the job just once. Anyways FYI I ordered them from AJUSA (thanks pitbull) they have 10% off with free shipping.

Congrats. I have had Billys on 6 autos I have owned and loved them.

Just cut the rear shocks with a sawzaw if you are going DYI with the install.

The rear was a pain in the ass, watch out for the fluid that comes out of the shock bolt when you cut it, its known to be flammable.

did you get the tundra or the taco? I just got mine today 5100's for the Tacoma front, just need to figure which ones should I get for the rears. will be installing them this Sunday.

I'm thinking the 5100's for the 2011 Tacoma should fit.

These are the shocks I bought for the rear.

2x 48531-69486 - 1995 FZJ-80 Land Cruiser stock rear shocks (left and right are the same part number)

After initially quoting me nearly double the price I found at 1sttoyotaparts.com, my dealer ended up matching the price (plus tax of course).

I really won't be wheeling either. I mainly hit the beaches on the Outer Banks. But I've owned 2 Toyota 4wd trucks and have always wanted to lift one. Call it a mid-life crisis, but now that I have a 4Runner, it's getting lifted! :banana:

I do have concerns about the CV boots, but I guess I'll jump that hurdle if/when I get there. That's the great thing about this site......there always seems to be an in-depth thread or people willing to help.
