Just Painted & Installed New C4 Fab Rock Sliders and Fuel Tank Skid

So after constantly bending our NFAB steps that we loved and replacing them twice it was time to upgrade to sliders... but to be honest we felt that none of the ones on the market had practical step pads that also looked nice. So we searched and searched and talk to countless fabricators and ran into C4 Fab and after seeing their previous work we decided to see what they can make for our 4runner.

Instructions wise install is straight to the point... but we will put together the best instructions we can and post them shortly
They bolt to the side of the frame... with around 10-15 bolts on both the driver side and passenger side.

The Fuel Tank Skid plate bolts directly to the same mounting points that the stock skid mounted to.

Below I will post virtually all of our shots of the paint process as well as our install.

The next day we decided to color match our sr5 wheels to this color... so ofcourse we used the rock sliders to lift the truck =p -

Really nice man. Are those first pics painted? Up close that storm gray looks really dark. In the distant pictures it looks like bare metal (to me anyway). Thanks for posting.

I'm interested in that gas tank skid. I pretty much destroyed my RCI in Moab last month. I'm looking for one that has reinforcement on all edges as mine bent pretty severely along the leading edge where it lacks a formed edge for strength. Those sliders look great too.

The RCI one is good, but if you really wheel it hard and hit it on rocks hard it will bend due lacking formed edges all the way around. That is what has happened to mine.

Interesting design. I've been looking at sliders and had the same problems. My wife and kids are short (especially the 6-yr-old), so any sliders I get must function as steps. I have part-time access to a weld shop, but not a pipe bender, so the thought was to buy commercial sliders and modify them to fit my needs. That design, with a flat step on the top bar with an angled brace to the bottom bar is one I'd considered, and the CNC cut plates look better than anything I'd be able to do.

But is the step low enough with a lifted truck? Could you post a picture taken from down low showing where the top of the step is in relation to the sill?

The other design I considered was removable steps that were lower than the sliders. Picture something like the NFab bars with the drop steps, except I'd be able to take the drop steps off when I wanted to go off-road.
