What was really sweet was the fact that Foxfi on my LG Revolution smart phone lets me bluetooth my data plan right to the tablet. (I have a grandfathered unlimited plan on the Verizon data plan)
No phone rooting required.
plagued with a semi-non functioning gps radio and weak wifi signals due to a design flaw with the aluminum case and lack of RF window you could be having some problems in the near future, also make sure when you go in to tablet settings a serial number is displayed, they had a few ship sets shipping with a firmware bug that didn't provide a serial number and would block users from getting updates.
in fact the problems going with this tablet are quit big, there's still talk of a massive recall and asus is taking RMA's and replacing them with all new components on the inside as there is also some RF interference going on between radio's on the inside. hit up XDA forums prime section for the details on alot of this stuff.
all of that said, i was one of the first in the country to receive their prime tf201 and haven't had nearly any of the problems others have had, but i also don't use my tablet as a gps device and my wifi signal is strong in my house and i tether to my phone like you when out and about , so my wifi signal is always close by.so those are really non-issues for me.
as far as speed and power goes, the thing is amazing! murders every other tablet I've ever come up against, my buddies with the ipads are getting jealous and my friends with other andriod tablets don't even come close.
this basically was the tablet i was waiting for, i bought and returned the ipad and ipad2 along with the xoom and original transformer, the prime had the speed i was expecting from a tablet.
also, i might consider holding out for a few more weeks though and go with the infinity 700, which is an identical tablet with higher res and a better camera minus all of the issues i listed above....
on xda find the posts by gary keys, he's an asus rep that's working with the prime community to resolve alot of the issues going on with it.

1 more thing xda is to phone and tablet tech like t4r.org is to 4runners, it's the place, stop in there before buying any new big budget carry around tech.
most breaking phone/tablet news,roots,roms,hacks, comes from members of that site.
