Just picked up my 4R!!

I've been a registered member for a few weeks, and have been lurking until now. After exhaustive research, my search for a new whip narrowed down to the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 4R.

Well, I just pulled the trigger! I brought home a brand spanking new 07 Sport V8 with everything but the JBL sound today.

Shadow Mica looks absolutely awesome. This is my 2nd Toyota after a 1982 Corolla bought brand new which served me well when money was scarce and my son was a baby.

I'm thrilled. Just wanted to say hello and thank you to everyone on here forr all the info.

I'll post up pics as soon as I have them. It's been raining here today.

If you don't mind, what was the reason for going with the Sport ?

I'm asking because I am very close in making a decision myself and keep going back and forth with an SR5 and the SE.

Thanks! I couldn't find any SR5s with the features I wanted: V8, side airbags, and the sound system.

Besides, I like the hood scoop

The difference between the comparably equipped SR5 (even if one was available) wasn't that big. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

I haven't test driven a Cherokee yet, but on paper it looks like you can get a pretty good deal.

I hear ya, and yes I like those features as well......

I like the Sport but I can get a SR5 with commonly equiped options and dealer installed Leather with an adjusted MSRP of $34,214 which is slightly lower than a commonly equiped Sport without Leather for $34,854.... and I really like Leather....

...and yes I could go with a Leather equipped Sport but the MSRP goes up to almost $36k driving my lease paymenst out of range........

Still undecided, but leaning towards a Black Sport I looked at in person today.

Shadow Mica looks almost black in failing light but in sunlight it's got flecks of green and red, giving an overall smoke brown hue. Very cool.

I just love the interior. The fabric seats are fantastic. I've had leather seats in all my previous cars, but with 2 rambunctious Golden Retrievers cloth is much more practical.

Reminds me of what happened at the ski resort last week. Some dude had a pit in his Passat wagon with the windows down a couple inches and that dog was barking at everyone walking by. The folks in the two cars next to the Passat just kept messing with the dog with it running around the interior. One of the girls said "that car is gonna be all f*ed up." The windows were covered in doggie drool.

I love the look of the clean dark colors and the depth that's only achievable with dark colors.
