Just traded the 2010 Trail for 2011 Limited!

Hey guys,
Just got back from a long trip to IL last night from WI to trade in my 2010 Trail for a 2011 Limited (demo with 6K). I love it! I got the Magnetic grey with NAV. I think I got a great deal. They gave me almost $30K for mine (Trail 36K miles, no NAV or KDSS) and about $37K for the new one. Off to get 'er waxed up before the cold weather hits

I made the switch for a number of reasons. At the time when I bought the Trail I could not afford the Limited which I had wanted. I really prefer the Xreas which my last two 4runners had(the trail w/o KDSS sucks for handling). I also feel better having full time 4wd when my wife drives. She never knows when its safe to switch into 4wd on the Trail, now it does not matter. We live in WI so when the roads go from snow covered to clear etc, its a PIA.

I must say the NAV and stereo are much better as well. The wife loves dual climate control, I'm always warm, shes always cold The leather and push button start are icing on the cake too!

All the little improvements add up and its why I ultimately made the switch. Its my 5th 4runner in a row and counting:banana:

They do look very nice! Too bad I'm tapped out now I could use some recommendations for either some real nice mud flaps or running boards. I like to try and avoid rock chips.

I sold my old oem wheels and tires before I even took them off, almost broke even for the new ones, 300 bucks to upgrade.

I would defiantly do oem running boards and splash guards . Running boards protect the rockers from chips, and look good. Bought all my accesories from eBay, search around for the best deal. I bought oem boards from a dealer on ebAy for like $289 sent to my house.

In order to put oem boards and 4 splash guards on I had to cut an inch off each of the boards for it to all fit well!!!

Running Board Tube Step Black TOYOTA 4RUNNER 2010 | eBay

Do you know if the running boards like this will work with the front mud flaps? I dont like the standard Toyota boards, they make the truck look like it sits lower. Any other suggestions?

Might work with the guards , be careful what you buy tho, steel may chip then rust and after a year may not look good, try to find stainless steel or aluminum boards!!!

You traded in your 4runner at my dealership. I came into work today and found a black trail edition with 36k miles on it on our used car side. Sorry. Just to verify it was at Elgin Toyota right? if so that limited you got was the general managers demo.

I did end up finding the OEM mud guards off ebay and bought them. What modifications has everyone needed to do for them to fit just out of curiosity?

Yeah that would be the second trail edition we've had at our dealer in the past month. 3 days after signing for my 07 we got a new 11 blue trail edition. I was bummed cuz i really wanted that style. Then i see you traded in yours haha.

Tough to answer. I had a trade in which I owed money on so the numbers are tricky. I paid $37K or so for the new one and got about $29800 for the 2010 Trail. These prices do not include loan payoofs, taxes, etc.
