Agreed. After about a minute I forwarded 5 minutes and the mom that was taping it was still doing her donkey laugh and the guys still couldn't figure it out.

Lame.

"gotta love the girl trying to tell the guy what to do the entire time, bc she obviously knows. hahaha!"

I have 2wd and launch a 3500 pound boat all the time with no issues. The problem here was whatever he did to cause the 4r to roll backwards the first time he tried to pull out.

If the trailer drops off the end of the ramp, re-launch the boat and use a rope from the boat's bow to the trailer's rear crossmember to lift the trailer up. The trailer doesn't weigh crap at this point because the tires are trying to float. Hold the trailer up like that while the tow vehicle moves up the ramp enough for the trailer tires to clear.

A fantastic trick to keep wheels from spinning while pulling out on a slippery ramp is to apply the brakes and a modest amount of throttle at the same time, then slowly let off the brake until the truck starts to move, continuing to hold the brake while moving up the ramp. This allows the engine to develop enough torque to move the whole rig up the ramp, in advance, and you use the brakes to control how much of that torque is transferred to the tires.

I also have a wheel chock in case I get really messed up like these guys did, but I've never had to use it.

*dueling banjoes playing in head*. I drive up ice steeper than that pulling all of my friends' front wheel drive cars on my driveway in the winter. 99.9% of the time I keep it in 2WD

There should be a minimum IQ required to drive a 4Runner. What a genius!! Should've gotten the 4WD :D

Sad... they had that little girl with them too. I got a 4Runner and a boat, if I ever see this conduct, 911 to the rescue. DUI and BUI in one shot, little girl would be taken from their custody too.
