Just went offroading and some things

First lemme just say my car did great and held it's own against a Ford F-150 and a Ford Explorer. It killed the explorer which got stuck and he had to get someone to tow him out because my friend in the F150 and I were already long gone. THe F-150 got stuck temporarily, but he got out after a while with a little pushing. My car never got stuck, but also maybe cuz I was driving it better and more carefully.

But now afterwards ive noticed some things. The F150 is making a high pitched really loud squealing noise and the brakes were squealing really loud too. Then my car started doing it a little. Im not sure what it could be maybe the brakes rubbing againts something. We were going through puddles on a lot of mud, maybe it gone in between something. Anyone got any ideas?

Maybe a rock got between the brake disc and the shield? is it a constant squealing or just when you apply brakes?

No its was always happening when I drove. I did get something between the brakes as I was offroading though and I just let go of the brakes and reapplied them and it was gone though. How would I check this?

it is prob. just mud in your disc's. what i do after every time i go out in the mud is i go to the local pressure washer car wash, take the water gun and put it in between each spoke of my wheels and spray each brake disc until i cant see anymore brown water coming out, then i get on the inside of the wheel and get all the mud off my suspension and inside of the wheel, then you have to rinse off the other side but that takes no time once youve gotten the majority of it off, failure to keep your brakes clean will result in you having to replace them multiple times before a normal vehicles brakes will wear out, the mud will turn to dirt which will then turn to glass with all the heat. trust me, when i was 16 i did the same stuff and learned the hard way about cleaning the undercarriage and engine bay and brakes off before even worrying about the body, infact, the body on my truck is still dirty from my trip to tellico, but the undercarriage is spotless

I just used my pressure washer to wash off everything I could from the suspension and brakes. I havent had a chance to drive the car yet but hopwfully it will be working fine. It took me about 45 minutes to clean everything down there and I wa amazed at how much mud was underneath the car. Next time Im not gunna go through deep puddles, ill stay on the hard dirt areas mostly I think. Thanks for your help

I think it was something in the brakes, after washing everything out it doesnt squeal anymore. Thanks for the help.

I agree it was something in the brakes, that's very common. But I found your statement about the Explorer to be very disturbing. You went wheeling w/ two other trucks and then just left one behind, that is not good at all, you should always make sure your buddies make it out with you. Now if there were more rigs that you didn't mention then disregard that, but leaving a friend behind to get out on their own is pretty messed up.

Its because we didnt know he was still there. He quit for a while because he was low on gas. So my friend and I were playing around by ourselves, then we left. Figuring he went back to the house after getting gas, but then he called us as we were getting home +- 20 minutes later. Noone knew he was still offroading.

EDIT: and he was just playing around in the mud next to the guy in the Tacoma and the road so he wasn't going to be left there.

Cool, I wasn't trying to be critical and I assumed you didn't leave him behind, but I was just throwing it out. Hopefully your noise is gone and your truck is fine, enjoy the trails.
