So, does anyone know the reliability of:

K&N Fuel Injection Intake Kits

I'm considering getting one but I don't know if it is quite in the budget yet. I can't install it myself, so I'll have to pay for it to be done...

yes, autozone sells this kit. however, i just went there today and priced it out at $258 + tax (i live in virginia)

i just went on ebay and found a few stores selling them for between $174 - $179 +$15 shipping. this is brand new in the factory sealed box.

i think ill buy mine off of ebay and save almost $100 :

"Estimated HP gain= 3.32 HP".......At least they are honest and not claiming 15-20HP gain!!! like most CAI AD's do.

Save your money you will never feel 3 HP.

For that kind of money I would put it towards a Salvage yard 3.4L engine and swap that into your 4Runner then you would be "putting a few horsees" in there.

BTW CAI are easy as pie to install.

Just face it any money you spend on the 3.0L will be a waste you will never get any serious HP out of this engine and if you did spend the $ to get the HP it would be cheaper to have gotten a 3.4L and a S/C.
