K&N Air Intake Systems

What are people's thought on K&N's Air Intake Systems for the 4.7L V8? Would you recommend a similiar system? I've heard that there may be some unintended results from its installation. What type of performance enhancements have you seen and is it worth the dough? Any advice would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

i have the 63 series on my 4runner. only thing ive noticed is better sound and better throttle response on bottom end. as for peeps saying better gas mileage you probably wont even notice anything. hopefully i can get a nice exhaust soon for my runner

"I've heard that there may be some unintended results from its installation" Only caution is if you run thru high water - be very cautious of hydro-lock. Apparently the stock does better job of not letting it happen - of course if you get with the K&N installed your warranty is gone!

I have the 63 series as well. It is significantly louder at highway speeds so watch out for whining from the woman if you have one As for performance increase I would agree with the previous statement regarding throttle response. I have no data to back that up, however.
