Today I installed a K&N intake on my 05SE V8. This was my second K&N install, the first was on my 01 Honda S2000.
If anyone wants to know, its part number 63-9029. Install is EASY, you only need a few sockets, ratchet, 10mm wrench, small allen key, and flathead and philips screwdrivers.
If you're working outside in a parking stall (like me) you can do quite a bit of the pre-assembly inside the house. the hardest part is putting the rubber gasket around the heatshield. it takes a lot of patience and elbow grease.
The kit even comes with a copy of the Dyno sheet, showing an increase of 12.3 horsepower.
The engine sound is GREAT, quite a bit louder, even at 1/4 throttle. I'll have to update after a week to see if there is any noticable change in power or fuel mileage. Overall I'm happy with it. The truck in stock form is too quiet for me, so just the sound alone is enough for me. It looks good in the engine bay, and for me, is a better option than drilling a ghetto hole in the stock airbox.
