I bought my 4Runner with the alarm listed as a port-installed option. It uses the regular Toyota key fobs and had a red blinker-valet enable/disable button to the left of the steering column in the optional button slots (in the fourth position, my second position has my center diff lock).
Anyways, following instructions found elsewhere on the web, I can enable/disable the horn honking when arming/disarming the alarm. However, in addition to blinking the parking lights and rear lights, and sounding the built-in pico (sp?) beeper, it turns on my low beams for 20 seconds.
Anyone know of a way to change that setting? I found a walk through on the "gulf states alarm", but those instructions didn't work. FYI, I have a 2006 SE V6 4WD bought in Florida (SE Toyota Distributor).
