Picked up a used '13 TE last week. I was told it wasn't KDSS equipped. However, when I start my truck all the lights turn on on the dash and a yellow "KDSS" appears. Is this normal for TE that aren't equipped with it?

Did you crawl under it to see if it has KDSS? In the front on the drivers side it looks like a shock attached to the sway bar. There also is some KDSS equipment ( hydraulic housing) on the outside of the frame rail under the drivers side door.
No need to crawl under it, just look at the front lower control arm. If there is a sway bar attached to it, you have KDSS. Without KDSS, the sway bar is much smaller, higher, and connects to the spindle.I haven't crawled under it yet. We're -3 and the streets are a sheet of ice. But I will check that. Keeping my fingers crossed that I find a shock attached to it...
