Nobody is going to buy a leather mom truck for 90k and beat the shit out of it and the LC200 sucks as a luxury vehicle, far behind what the Germans offer with their crossovers.
That's why they're not selling any, and why Toyota doesn't do anything legitimate to update a platform that sells about 3k units PER YEAR in the US market.

Well, i did beat the shit out of my G-wagen....
As for luxury, it is not to German luxury standard for darn sure, but it is quite comfy...wife and kids love it on long trips...but then again, i may have set my expectations low because i knew what i was getting into. Even with BFG KO2, we just went on a trip for 8 hours drive........rode so comfy and confidently in bad weather.
Unlike German luxury, LC200 is probably the most durable and reliable vehicle on the planet, bar none. And it is, by far, the most popular vehicle owned with over 200,000 miles, bar none.
I gladly favor THAT over German luxury...been there, done that.
As for sales, so be it...i am in exclusive club.
. (But then again, Pontiac Aztec owners feel the same way. LOL) Honestly, I actually feel lucky to own the LC200...a first for me...and i have owned plenty of expensive cars!

No major changes for 2021 in USA. No facelift. That pic you saw is from Middle East or something where they added some extra low hanging spoilers. Middle East LCs have fancy quilted leather too!

Why pissed off at the govt? There is no reason that Toyota couldn't build this to meet specs and sell it in the US - the reason they aren't doing that is because the demand isn't there.

Icon Suspensions and the Icon company founded by and ran by Jonathan Ward are two different companies...he doesn't even use Icon suspension products.
Aside from burdensome regulations for safety and emissions that make it not feasible for Toyota to make changes for the US market, they also won't allow a citizen to buy one an import it without making those same alterations.
The same reason I'm pissed that europe has diesel sedans that get 70-80mpg and we can't get them here.

ICON suspension isnt ICON, JWards vehicle building...
and to add to his cred, JWards ICON vehicles was the company that built the first Toyota pre-production FJ Cruiser, and tested it, before it went to production and release. They seem to know what they are doing.

Maybe there is, maybe there isn't. With how much attention the Wrangler and new Bronco get I think there is some demand for an off-road oriented vehicle with classic square body looks. Maybe not as much as those nameplates but the problem is that Toyota doesn't even try. We will have to see what they bring to the plate with the LC300 and 6th gen 4Runner. I don't think there has been this much excitement and this much availability of off-road/overland oriented vehicles since the 90's. If there was ever a time for Toyota to step up and deliver what the enthusiasts want it's now. Otherwise they'll go down the route of Land Rover.
Yeah, Australia gets some nice rigs, but did you notice the comments about "legal mod" restrictions they have over there?
I've been watching some YouTube videos from 4WD 24-7 out of Australia and they have some nice "tracks" that they run. Plus they're entertaining and look like they're having a blast.

I'm sure Toyota could build an LC or FJ that was stripped down to meet the bare minimum safety requirements, but who would buy it? Lots of people say they would, but look at all the threads about Apple Carplay, forward cameras, laser cruise and such.

Until I bought my 17 SR5 last November I'd been driving a 68 F100. I've been driving it since it was given to me by my Grandpa in 1986. He was the original owner.
I still regularly drive it (today). Though not so much in summer as it didn't come with air conditioning (high today 109°f).
