I wanted to share a recent wash I did on my 4Runner after what was one of the harsher winter stretches I’ve put it through in a long long time...with about 3 months of no washes, multiple long road trips to upstate NY, and plenty of salt exposure.
I used a touchless pre-soak approach first, just to see how much it could realistically remove before any contact wash. I know there’s always debate as to how effective those really are, but I figured this was a good real-world test.
The touchless step alone knocked out what looked like 90%+ of the grime. Way more effective than I expected, especially on the salt. From there I followed up with an off-road specific wash soap, which had a really nice level of slickness and finished off what was left without needing anything aggressive.
End result was pretty solid considering where it started and will assist with my goals of keeping my finish looking as good as new even at ~19 years old now.

I know detailing threads in general here dont get much play, but I think this would work well for off-road crowd here who get dirty alot more often than I do.
