Keeping my 4Runner Healthy and Long Lasting

Hey guys,

So I wanted to just ask a few questions about keeping my 06 SR5 in the best condition as possible. I'm not talking about the exterior of the vehicle but more of some common issues to expect and maintenance fixes I would have to look out for and be aware of.

I don't know if this changes any factors but I have Toytec Coilovers in the front and Bilstein 5100s in the back considering joints or arms or what have you..

Follow the scheduled maintenance guide that came with your vehicle (if you still have it.) Most everything else holds up pretty well as long as you give it a bit of love and a wipe down every now and then.

What exactly were you expecting to run into?

Just run all synthetic fluids and do your scheduled maintenence and you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Check out the highest mileage thread to put your mind at ease.

just oil changes here. 275,926 and still purring like a kitten


and normal wear items tierods etc etc truck it run VERY HARD

Oh yeah and cringe but the diff fluid was finally changes less then 5 thousand ago. trans hasn't been touched no will it. Im actually hoping it fails just so work has to put a new one in LOL

Oh I do, a handy manual that'll tell me most everything I want to know. And since I took a break from off-roading it's been shiny clean every chance the weather allowed it, so it's always in good condition; but issues pertaining to gaskets, pumps joints or parts I could upgrade to compliment my driving and when I do hit the trails again, to give it a little difference

Right [emoji28] only running 150,xxx miles so far with on time fluid changes. Was told that with the proper care it's possible to double that and get up to 500k mileage out of it

I've always been pre-emptive about everything. I don't do oil changes at 3k because that's pointless but I change out bushings, wash it every day it sees snow because of the salt, wax it, clean the injection system, rotate tires, check air in my tires, get steering aligned etc...
