Kelly Tires? Hercules Tires? Waste of money?

I'm in need of new tires and I was wondering if anyone has run either of these tires? They run about $200 cheaper than a set of Wrangler Duratracs and about $300 cheaper than Wrangler M/T's. I'm curious to how well the tread wear is. Has anyone heard of anyone running these or any horror stories? I currently have Wrangler Silent Armors and I've got about 60k miles on them. I've got about 25% tread left. I don't mind spending the money on good tires that last but if these cheaper tires go for 40-50K I'd be happy.

I've heard of some people running the Kelly's and really liking them. I think a member MarcP got them for his 3rd gen and some 4th gen guys have them. No clue about the Hercules, but they might be decent.

The Kelly Tires have a 30 day return policy which I like just because I have the option to get rid of them if I don't like them.

i know some guys who have put the Hercules tire on their pickups, and they seam to do ok. im sure they are not going to be a quiet tire, and the guys from toyota 4wd owners mag put them on one of their FJ40s and they gave them good reviews, so idk. im gonna be needing new tires here soon and have been looking at the nitto trail grapplers and or the new MTR and been giving the maxxis big horns a serious look as well, as i like the set i have now, they are just getting a little worn down(i bought them used so i dont know how many miles ill get out of them). i dont see any negatives to them other than noise and you might not get much more than 40k out of them. but i dont think you would get that much more out of the MTR(but i do think they are a better tire).

I know goodyear owns kelly tires and the TSR is really similar to the duratrac. I am leaning heavily on the TSRs myself. After searching for info on them all I honestly found were positive reviews.

I have heard that the Kellys are a good sleeper tire; they don't receive much spoken love on 4x4 forums, but no one ever seems to bad mouth them either.

My uncle had some on his beater K1500 and they rode fine until that deer jumped out in front of him last year.

I'd bet by far the biggest difference between the Safaris and Duratracs, is the price. Sure, long tread life is nice, but it's miles per dollar that counts and I'll bet the Safari wins that equation.

I wonder if the tire is made with the same tread compound but a different tread pattern, with no "Goodyear" label on it to mark up the price?
