I am the proud owner of a 2005 Limited. I purchased this around the end of February after a month long search after my 3rd Gen was totaled on Xmas eve. :sad: I come from a long background of modifying imports and this will be my first 4x4 project. Here is a picture of my previous ride:

My plans for this rig are quite simple. Its a daily driver and a weekend "light" off-roading/camping rig. I plan on keeping her simple but functional. But like anything this may change in time as the mod bug bites me from time to time... lol Any suggestions and or comments are definitely welcomed. :-)

thanks! I was super sad when I sold her..... but unfortunately I have to "grow" and not have toys like that anymore... :-P At least at this point in time... lol
 
I will let you know if I decide to sell them. Im more than likely going to be taking off the side emblems but I will keep them if I sell her..... which hopefully will NEVER happen :-)
 
Update - lift and tires

So it has been a little while but I finally put my lift on:
Bilstien 5100
OME 885 front
ToyoTec 2" rear
285/70/17 BFG Ko2
TE rims powered coated black
Spidertrax 1.25 spacers

Looks awesome. How do you like the lift? Did you add a spacer for driver sag? Regret getting rid of xreas, Ra's?
 
Thanks! I don't miss the xreas system at all. The lift rides slightly stiffer but I expected it but it still rides smooth. I may later on add a spacer but right now I'm good

Dude this stance looks awesome! I want to get some 285 tires when mine wear out, and I think I want to go a little higher with my lift. I'm curious why you went with the medium duty 885s in the front rather than the standard 884. Was it because the v8 weighs more than the v6? Were you able to get the alignment within spec with the stock UCAs? Do you have any spacers in the rear? Or is it just the Toytec springs? Do you have hub to fender measurements? Sorry for the 3rd degree. Just thinking I want to copy your lift.
 
Thanks and I couldn't be more ecstatic on how it turned out. I was suuuuper nervous. The reason I went with the 885 is due to the weight of the v8 plus later on I may add a couple things to the front (bumper, winch etc etc) that will definitely weight the front down. The front spring/shock is set to the 3rd ring of the 5100's and I think that is why everything is level.... If I went to the fourth then I would have been "leaning" to the rear. I got my truck aligned the other day and I can take a picture and post it up here for you to do. I think it's skirting the line to where I need to add UCA's.....For now I have to wait (bc of my funds....lol)

The rears are just the springs with no spacers. I get get measurements tomorrow and post them.

I did have to trim the runner liners in the front and remove my mud flaps. I get a little rub when I'm backing up and at full turn but I don't mind it. I did look into getting the body mount chopped but right now it seems like it isn't an issue.

Wait so you have 5100's at the 2.5 setting AND 885's? What do your cv angles look like? That's a lot of lift for a 4wd but I love the way it looks!
 
Noooo it's the setting below 2.5..... .75 I believe. The cv axles aren't at a super extreme angle. So far it's been two weeks and the driving hasn't changed since stock. I enjoy the stiffer ride and I'm actually thinking of putting a spacer I the rear to lift the back just slightly.

4Runner looks awesome man! With the stock uca's, how does it handle? Oh and that STI was sick. I have a 4Runner I'm in the process of lifting but my dream car is an Evo X... One of these days,,
 
Thanks dude! She doesn't handle like she is on rails but it's like any other lifted vehicle.... You can't whip around corners and whatnot. She handles well and I am soooo happy about the results. I get compliments on her all the time. I would love to get into another sti or a evo but uuuugh I have to be a grownup lol.
