Could also be that it's an aftermarket (Home Depot/Ace Hardware/Wal Mart) key and the cutter did a sloppy job. I had some spare keys cut at Lowe's and the first two didn't work at all in the door although they worked in the ignition. I took them back and had them cut me new keys. One of the new keys they cut would work one way but not when reversed (these keys are supposed to be symmetrical.)

I would say try to find one key that works and then have new ones cut, and make sure you try all of the keys in all doors before you leave the store.

sorry guys this is a 4th gen. but i am sure it still is the same. well all 3 of my keys have the big black yota sign on it. so i am guessing its not a aftermarket.

Yea. This is what happens when you own a vehicle with key-less entry(remote) and can go YEARS without ever turning the key cylinder in the door.
