So...I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere but after searching I was unable to find a definitive answer... I have a 99 Limited with what looks like a factory alarm (window etching, sticker, and red light in the middle of the dash with a sticker that says: "Security"); I bought the vehicle without the fobs so I went online and got one off ebay (TOYOTA KEY KEYLESS ENTRY REMOTE FOB 010C | eBay) - The instructions tell me to push a button on the ECU under the driver's seat to start programming, the problem is there is no ECU under the driver's seat - so I started the process here (http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-g...tructions-keyless-entry-remote.html#post60884) and when I get to step 5 (doors should lock on their own within 3 seconds) nothing happens.
So - is there an easy way to determine what I have, or do I need to call the dealer?
