Look under the driver's seat and see if you see a box there for the RS3000.

What if the truck (97 limited) has an audible alarm, but no brain under the seat? After unplugging my battery, it went nuts and I had to press a small button on my driver's kick panel to get it to stop screaming. I think I have the rs2000, how do I find out? Where would it be? I really would like to get keyless entry, so if anybody knows what part I should be looking for - thanks.

Adding factory keyless entry to 1996 4Runner

I recently purchased a 1996 4runner SR5 and also a 2000 4runner SR5. The 96 is in almost perfect condition except it’s missing a few key items that I am gradually swapping over from the 2000. Is it possible to swap out the keyless entry on the 2000 and easily put it into the 1996 seeing how it has power door locks.
