Kia...too late to the party?

The Koreans are coming into each category with lots of engine for a very low price, just like the article mentioned about the Genesis.
I don't know if it's late, but I would say it's definitely bad timing. With gas prices astronomically high, most consumers are down sizing their vehicles and those who do need a bigger vehicle will more than likely turn to a trusted make. So IMO it's a very bad time to be testing the waters with vehicles that are tough to sell. But who knows for $30k-ish may be lots will bite for an affordable V8.
I'm partial on the styling. It looks like a Ford up front with LS460 lights, but it gets progressively worst kind of Ford Escape like and then as it goes towards the back looking the Montero. Don't know what to say about the rear. The interior is bland, but it could be a whole lot worst.

It's cool but it's too late. And we know Kia by their little car models. But maybe the specs and features are little too cool, maybe some chances are needed.

yeah, you wonder why Toyota would release cars like that in the time they did, but you also gotta remember that america still is one of the biggest consumers of SUVs in the world...even now a days. Sure, prices have to come down to get them moving, but in certain markets in the country, SUVs still sell.
hell, i'm in orange county and it amazes me how many new Range Rovers are driving off of the lot from newport beach land rover. as well as new Cayennes, X5s, so forth. To the wealthy, it's more about size and status...gas prices are probably going to be pretty low on their scale of importance on picking cars. they'd rather have their children "safer" in a huge SUV should the mom and kids get in an accent. they pay for that kind of reassurance at the pump.
can't blame em. im sure if i had kids I'd pay the extra every month just to make sure that they wont be the dead ones in the prius when it knocks into a big SUV.
