KidV's 1985 4Runner

Then I'm just gonna have to set you on fire.

no worries lol. I'm already spending enough this weekend.

how's the OME install going? or have you not started yet?

Your sig has grown. What's up with the new arrival?

It is a rig that I bought several years ago here in town and let a friend drive. LOL ended up on the side of the road with a window in the motor. I gave it to my dad to rebuild with my little brothers but he never was able to get to it so it came back to me. Right now the plan is to build a full bodied crawler with a 5.O HO motor. The Trans is up in the air as it came with an auto and I have a line on an AOD with Dana 300 tail. But I also Own a NWOR bellhousing for an R151 if I could find one. Prob Alcans and 37's. But we will see. Right now it is an ornament in my driveway. Great AZ truck though, no rust but paint is sun trashed. Non SR5 but I have a set of SR5 gages that will go in and I will redo the seats and make it nice for the winter wheeling we like to do. Not that we ever get what others get but nice to have a closed rig with heat and still able to crawl.

Good eye on the Sig LOL

you just running the stock harness with that 5.0? I'm just curious.... I'm picking one up this weekend but I got a megasquirt for $80. Sounds like it'll be a pretty sweet project though.

OK Kevin fine. If it burns down, it's not my fault (It better not because then that looks REALLY bad.)

yep Stock harness I bought a 94 lincoln Mark VII and pulled everything:eyebrows: Mega squirt is a sweet way to go for sure.

definitely the way to go if you have access to the car. I figured megasquirt would be just as much wiring so I might as well cut all the crap out. Plus at $200 for the engine and AOD and $80 for Megasquirt, I'm well ahead.

Anyway.... to stop jacking off Kid's thread. :preggers:

Sorry for the miserable photos. Cell phone camera plus foggy weather equals crappy pics.

OME says 2 to 2.5 inches of lift... these are way more than 2" of lift. We measured the rear before and after - it had a bastard pack and 6" shackles before, and measured 7" inches between tire and fender, and now with the OME leaf pack and 6" shackles, it measures 10" between tire and fender. The original pack with the shackles gave just under 2" of lift, so the OME springs are good for over 4" of lift out of the box. I'll keep an eye on them and see how they settle.

Next up - gears and front knuckle refresh, and I guess now would be the time to make up my mind if I'm going to crossover steering or not.

The lift looks good. How does it ride?

Do the high-steer, you will be glad you did. The stock j-arm steering sucks.

Better than a bastard-pack rear and busted-leaf saggy-ass fronts with blown shocks :D.

It rides good on pavement. It's still a little stiffer than I'd like, but I'm guessing it's going to break in and get better.

They should break in and soften up a bit. Put a couple hundred pounds in the back for a couple weeks, this will speed up the process. My rear Trail Gear springs did not flex at all for the first week and it took a while to break them in.

How's your truck coming?

I just got some new to me rims that need painting and some used 33x12.5 BFG AT's. Other than that, like molasses in...well, you know.
