Looks like the last switchback up Tibble Fork AFC before the big offset boulders?

Mineral Basin, you mean? I think we're talking about the same spot, though:

You need to bring that sexy beast in your avatar out and get it dirty with us.

exactly, like just opposite Pittsburgh lake, same elevation, I haven't been up there in quite a few years, glad its still open. I have mostly been getting lost around the old mining roads of the Swell off i-70, I love it down there.

haha that beast needs to get wrapped with a little protection and a tad bit more clearance. I took it up behind the Bountiful B to check out the flex and clearance, lets say I packed a little dirt in the undercarriage, where I should have slid. It is definitely lacking that sexy-flexi like yours, then again not going for fully rock crawly, more of a wanderer :)

Really digging your 1st gen build, truly a Toy!

Thanks! Hoping to have her in a stable place once this swap is done and I can just enjoy her for a while.

I love the Swell, I hope to get down there more this summer. My poor tent was sadly neglected last year.

how goes the bastard?

If all goes well I'll be hooking up with a fellow with 220 in his garage to burn in the motor mounts Thursday night. Then it's exhaust and wiring and all the little shit. :guitar2:

I wish I could get up there to help you this weekend. Looks like I will be either working or camping with the scouts. My Boss hasn't decided yet. I'm almost torn at which I would rather do. I am getting burned out at work, but there are a couple of the scouts that make work seem like the more appealing option!!!

Good luck this weekend!!

Ordered the exhaust crossover from Chilkat this morning. Yesterday I got a box full of charcoal canister and various other emissions crap from nissanh - apparently Louisiana has a grip of 3RZ trucks in the junk yards because he's been able to find almost everything I've needed where none of my local yards have come through. Thanks nissan, you've been a huge help.

Kevin, Get the bastard up and running so we can go do some damn wheeling! :brick: :behindsofa:

You nag like my wife.

Build party this Saturday, come help. Gonna put the motor in, route the fuel line, and take a mighty whack at the wiring harness. Come get dirty and eat pizza.

Kevin,

Anytime my friend.
Thanks

No pics right now, because I'm lazy and didn't take any, but the motor is in for good. The mounts are just tacked in place, a buddy who is a much better welder than I am is going to come over and burn them in, but it's all bolted up. Wiring, exhaust, and other random hooking-up-of-things is still left to do.

Some notes - the slave cylinders are NOT identical, like I thought they were. I don't know if the W56 slave would work or not, but the W56 clutch release fork didn't work so I used the W59 slave to go with the W59 fork. Also, if you have rear heat the heater control valve will interfere with EGR crap on the 3RZ plenum. I'm going to replace the valve on the firewall with one from a truck without rear heat, and that should give me just enough clearance back there. I used this method to adapt the motor mounts - I ended up with 1/4in empty space between the motor mounts and the frame with the mounts bolted to the motor, so I plated the frame with 1/4in plate and they slipped in there just perfect. With the lip left on the top of the hacked up motor mounts, the motor sets with just a hairs clearance between the hood and the PS reservoir, and it looks like I have enough room between the oil pan and the steering rods. Pics to come when I've got a little more energy.

eta - hah! Thanks, Mike. Appreciate the help today!
