Well i had to sell my 1st gen that i built to get money to pay for a few things, which is the black 4runner. Well a couple days ago a friend at work, which im a toyota mechanic at a dealership. He bought a 1st gen from a co worker. Well it made me a little upset because i missed mine. well we went to the gas station and there was a 1st gen sitting there with a puddle under it. I looked at it and like it. well we had to leave. The next day my friend wanted to go see if it was still up there. We went up there and it was still there. I got a peice of paper and put my name and number on it. I left and went to the house and got a call. Well the guy called me and wanted to sell. I said how much and he gave me a price. I went back with my trailer. I picked it up for 400 bucks. Found out it had a blown headgasket. I looked around online and found a good 22re for 200 with 2 radiators. I drove a hour and a half and picked it up. So i have only had it a week and have old motor out and new one ready to put it in. Its a good start.I will have better pics real soon.

Nice truck man badass you work a toy dealer too. I've always wanted to just hate flat rate.

Flat rate definitely sucks--if work is slow, or the service writer has a burr up his tail, you starve. It sure was nice having access to a fully-stocked shop when needed, though!

Just got a 4 inch lift kit for 200. So I'm going to get the engine back in this weekend I hope. Still have to get 33's and rear lift.

Got the motor running today. Need exhaust fixed and timing set. I also found output shaft seal was leaking so I have to fix that

Having a few problems with idle. But trailering it to work to have a couple older Toyota techs at my work to help me out

Glad you got it figured out. It's funny to think they'll run that far out of time, just not well. What's the next plan after you get it running good?

well I thought we figured it out. We got it running ok but I could tell it wasn't perfect. I went and started looking around and found that the harmonic balance had slipped in the rubber. So im replace it tomorrow with another one and going to try to set the timing right. But my next thing will be getting interior fixed. Im pulling everything out and buying so stuff called lizard skin to help with sound dampining. Im also going to go ahead and put the 4 inch lift I have on it. But right now im on the search for a good set of trd fj cruiser rims. I think they will look good on it.

The who did the what now? This is a 22RE, right? 22RE has a chain, not a timing belt, and your main crank pulley slides over a woodruff key on the crank. What rubber are you talking about?
