Kishan Sr5 Build Thread

So I went back home during July 4 weekend to see my family, friends and my girlfriend. And of course there are a few updates on the truck. Some good and some bad.

Yakima Loadwarrior w/extension and the spare tire attachment.

Before

After

My personal favorite shot of the truck now

This is a pic of when I went up to College Station that weekend to see my girlfriend and we spent night at lake bryan and had a great time.

The bad news. My passenger side UBJ boot is torn and grease is coming out, I read that its alright to drive like this for awhile just as long as you don't really wheel it hard. So I guess new uniball UCA's are going to be an upgrade in the near future.

Somewhat made this scuffed paint okay with a bandaid lol

Oh yeah so yesterday was payday so I finally placed an order for a front bumper. I really wanted a CBI because I loved the design but they were pricey and they aren't adjustable for body lifts and I probably plan on running one so I can run 35's. So I decided on a Savage Offroad Hybrid Front Bumper w/Grill Guard

kishanSR5, looking good man! I bet those 35s will really make it stand out. Nicely done!

Thanks man! Yeah I hope so, I picked up a set of wheels to go along with them and so hopefully these will be on the truck by the end of this week!

kishanSR5 I will keep an eye out for the pictures. Please let me know how they work out for you. I have always wanted to put 35s on mine but just haven't pulled the trigger bc I don't know what the power loss would be like or anything like that.

Sounds good, and yeah I'll definitely let you know. These are decently worn 35s so I hope rubbing/clearance won't be that much of an issue but who knows because I have no idea what the offset of the wheels are that I got. I'm pretty sure my power loss is going to be definitely very noticible, Toyo MT's are heavy and so are 17" steel wheels.

Yea... With your stock gearing it'll be horrible. I hope you don't live near any hills or mountains

Yeah I guess I'll find out this friday lol. I'm currently in College Station,TX for school right now so I don't think hills or mountains will be a problem. But i will regear to 4.88's in the next year

New wheels & tires!!

Update
-This past sunday I picked up a set of steel wheels 17"x9" wrapped in 265/70r17 Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx for cheap
-I work at the Atkinson Toyota Dealership in the Bryan/College Station area so I had them through the new wheels/tires on.
-35s will go on this friday, I got a hookup with a buddy at discount tire

I have the center caps but I wanted to see how they looked without them. I'll probably throw those on when I mount the 35s.

If you plan on keeping your stock weight and 35s (i.e. no armor) then 4.88s should be fine but if youre going to run armor and 35s then most people think that the 4.88s are under geared. Its all relative.

As of right now I have a savage offroad front bumper coming in and eventually I will probably get the rear. But since the rear is a tube I don't think it would add much weight anyway? I guess I'll have to see how she does with the 35s.

Do you plan on sliders, skid plates, a winch, or adding a hi-lift Jack and other recovery gear? If you do then that also adds weight. I'm running 33 inch Toyos with a CBI Hybrid front bumper and a winch and it's a dog on anything other than flat ground at highway speeds.
