Kishan Sr5 Build Thread

Well this past saturday was the Bama-A&M game. We played like trash but it was still a great day. Took a backroad area with some construction and got her a little dirty. Oh and I threw on the flag for school support.

This is such a great build man, so much inspiration! I just picked up a runner last week, and after spending the last two hours reading this, I can't even think about studying right now haha. Everything looks awesome, subbed! :yo:

Really love this build, it all fits together so well! The 35s look awesome.

Also curious about the gearing...

Another quick question, though: how'd that flag fare with the antenna? Did you do much driving with it attached?

Thanks man, I appreciate it! And that's great man, welcome to the forum!

How's 35's without re-gear? Are you finding it to be necessary or do you think you can make do without?
Well I definitely feel a decrease in power, but I still can get where I need to go. I've driven to Houston and back on these tires twice and it's doable. Just don't go trying to max out the speedo with these, I had my foot to the floor for at least a minute on the highway trying to keep up with my girlfriend in her pilot and I couldn't go much past 90mph, not that you should be going that fast anyway lol. But my verdict is that you can make do without, but I will still be looking into one in the future.

Thanks! I appreciate it! I have no idea what my stock gear ratio is, it's whatever the 2wd v6 came with. But I'm managing just fine.

So the flag wasn't too bad, it was just zip tied on. And then I zip tied the antenna to the tail light guard so it was more rigid like a mast. I've driven around town and on the highway with it on and it's good. Although I still would prefer if I could get a hitch mounted flag pole.

So a little update on the truck, Even though the 35s are pretty worn they drive pretty darn well. Traction control kept giving me shit when going through some turns so i just unplugged the wire by the master cylinder under the engine bay for now to delete the electronics. I've driven to Houston and back on the tires and it did fine, but this time i tested it in the rain. I drove to Dallas on Friday and came back today at about 4pm. For anyone in Texas who knew how the weather was, you know it was a pretty bad storm. The tires did great in the rain, no problems at all and I felt so planted and safe. The girlfriend and I went to Dallas to go see Luke Bryan, and tour the city. We got a chance to go see the gas monkey garage as well, unfortunately the guys weren't there so we couldn't see them. but all in all an incredible weekend.

Gassin up & leaving College station

There was a decent sized area off the side of the road near the garage where I could test the truck out and it did great, got her really dirty lol

All in all an incredible weekend, now to get back to life and do hw, study for tests and going back to work as a student.

Nice! I like what you have done so far. Where did you get the tail lights/3rd brake light? How much?
41.gif
Thanks man! I bought the both lights off of ebay, the tail lights were like 120, and the 3rd brake light was like 40.

Man it's crazy how fast this build is coming together! Truck looks great with those 35's.
I'm curious if you're still running those same wheel spacers and how they're holding up, any vibrations or anything? I'm really thinking of ordering some for mine

It's been 5 years in the making actually haha and I never thought if actually be running 35s. I appreciate it! Well funny you mention that, so the truck drives great in my opinion but I definitely feel a vibration and steering wheel shaking/rattling at higher speeds. I think that can be attributed to the wear on the tires as well as the play in the steering slip joint. The alignment is on point I know that however the play in the steering is something I need to eliminate. I might also try getting the wheels rebalanced to check if it will help some.

Well good to know i got my jeep and it came with dana 35 and that coulnt handle 35's so i had to get me a dana 44 bigger axles stronger then the d35. Thats why i ask the question and thank you for your reply

Meh.... everything bolts right in... Or at least in the Tacoma world it does. Start collecting parts one at a time.. :)

Well yeah mechanically the parts just bolt in, I'm not worried about that. What I am worried about is the electronic and vacuum parts of the 4wd system.
