Thought I should start an intro thread now that I've found a second home.....
I'm Kat aka Kitty, 28yo aussie chick. anyways enough of that bulldust.
Come from a completely different 4WD background..... My current build thread, a soccer mum's sleeper wagon.
So how did I arrive here..... the GPS sent me down the wrong road and my husband is sick of spending money on my current toy.... I'll explain, went away for x-mas holidays, we set the destination in the GPS and chose fastest route.... bad mistake. driving merrily along, Turn Left in 200metres... turn, road degrades quickly to a fire trail with washouts and creek crossings...... ow and I'm towing our camper-trailer.
So as the fire trail gets worse, the heavens unleash a storm dumping 4" of rain in under an hour...... had to un-hitch, push the trailer into the bush and negotiate a 9 point turn, re-hitch and plant the right foot before the creek levels rose to a point where we'd be stuffed ( the "we'd" includes my then 3month old baby and our 3 cocker spaniels) so 200+Kw at each corner, a storm and a whole heap of damage to my wagon (custom exhaust = fubar'd, intercooler = fubar'd, and cracked transfer case = fubar'd, front bumper = fubared) we arrived at the destination....... my husband gets out of the car, rips the GPS out and smashes it to pieces...... not a happy man, $6k+ damage....
So about a month ago, he comes home with a 4runner and says, no more using the Legnum for anything other then track days and shopping ........ So, here I'am.
I've scanned the 300+ pages in the Classic T4R threads, and working my way through the stuff I'm considering Mod'ing on the "TRUCK".
So, I'll try and avoid pissing you all of with my ditzy blonde noobie questions !!!
I'll post some pic's of the "Truck" up during the next week.
And just so you know I haven't been sitting on my arse with the "Truck", so far I have already changed the following;
After giving the Truck a once-over >>
All fluids drained and changed to full synthetics
Timing Belt, Water Pump, Thermostat, Idler Pully's, Temp Sensor, All Belts replaced.
16x6 split rims changed for the Genuine Toyota 15x7 Mags with 31"x10's rubber.
Removed the 2" body spacer kit and replaced all the body bushes with Nolathane Body Bush Kit.
I have a list of mod's that I'll be doing to the truck over the next 12months to get it ready for our next holiday to the top end..... stand-by for a picture heavy build thread.....
