KMC XD Wheel question

Hi Everyone, I've been lurking on the site for a couple months trying to figure out what mods I'd like to make to my 2011 Black Trail. I really like the KMC XD 797 Spy wheels (in black), but I'm wondering if they will fit with out rubbing or sticking out of the wheel wells to far. Eventually I'd like to do a three inch lift and add 285's. Has anyone installed these on their truck, or know if they will work?

Thanks in advance,

The rims are 17x8 and they have 17x9 as well. Currently I have stock tires, but would like to do a lift and do 285/70/17's. I'm completely new to doing mods and would like to know if the KMC XD Spy's are a possibility with our trucks. The offset on the 17x8 is +18 and it is a -12 on the 17x9's. Any help is appreciated.

You'll need the -12 offset. You'll want wheel spacers because it will still sit inside the fender wells. Unless, of course, you want the tucked in look.

So, what backspacing would give you a flush-with-fenders look?

And why do some wheels say -12 while others say -4.5 or 4.75? Is this metric vs American?

What should we be looking for for the 4Runner?

Thanks!

what does offset mean? what does BS stand for? what does backspace mean?

Bs (backspace). If you go to that web site I provided it explains it in the diagram. To much backspace brings your tires close to your uca ( under control arm). Will cause it to rub under compression, causing it to puncture and having a flat. not good.
