Kumho Road Venture M/T

Seems like they get rave reviews in general...they're cheap....they look awesome......

Why doesn't anyone on here run them? I don't think I've seen a single 4runner on this site using them. Plus they come in the correct load range!

Thoughts and opinions?

I would of ran them if I didnt come across these free goodyear AT/S I'm running.

These are HIGH on my list for when i need tire replacement. I doubt you'd be disappointed, kuhmo makes a good tire. Had kuhmo Ecsta KU15's on my supra and loved them. Very sticky and stiff sidewalls for aggresive cornering.

I have the AT KL78's and they are a good tire. I had them in a 33 on my Xterra and now a 31.5 on my 4Runner. I have no complaints.

I too have run Kumho's almost exclusively on my performance cars. Probably been through 5-6 sets of low profile performance tires. They only last 15K miles though, so it's easy to go through them. I've always like their tires...but comparing H rated 225/45-17's to 285/75 mudders is quite the difference.

Ive had them now for a year and they ride great. Well I have the KL71's if I remember correctly, check them out too. I drive 80% on-road too and have a lot of tread left about half or a bit under with atleaste 15k on them...atleaste. They are just now starting to be noisey as hell since the tread is seperated from so much use. I'll probably get another set soon since I found someone to buy the ones off from me for $300...I payed $600 with wholesale discont since uncle owns a tire shop/car lot.

The side tread still looks the same as when I got them some wear from when I've been offroading. They grab real nice off road and in the h2o.

All in all I've obviously enjoyed them and have no regrets..well except gas mileage is low but that was to be expected so no biggy there. If for any reason I switch to a different tire it will be because of gas. I will be putting a lift on soon so will upgrade to the 285's.

P.S. If anybody decides to get these bad boys be sure to rotate and balance once a month...atleaste I do anyways so it keeps them even and nice. I'm sure everyone here realizes that already though but f not you know now lol

hope you can see the last ones tread ok. It was a darker day with iPhone. :-/ but still good tread for almost a year ago.

I am a bit skeptical now though...you say you have 15-20K miles on them? And they are separating?? Or did you mean something else? A reputable M/T (like a BFG for example) will easily go 30K before any adverse things happen....and sometimes they go 50K and drive great the whole time. I really don't want to drop $800 on a set of these for them to have a useful lifespan of only 20K miles. I'll spring for BFG AT/KO's.

I do 80% of my driving on road as well. But I want an aggresive looking tire. For some reason I'm not sold on the Duratracs yet. Partially because I don't want my rig to look exactly like RonMaiden's. And partially because they are new and highest miles I've seen in a review is 20K.

Sorry not seperated like it would seem in a bad way lol didn't use the rght wording but I drive 20 mins on highway to work everyday, have been to bigger cities (Kansas City) 3 hrs away about 4 times and a 9 hr drive to Texas and back plus off roading. So when I say 15k that's probably too low of a number. Either way I'm satisfied with them and they still look aggressive from the inside out.

I've thought about the duratracs as well because I want an aggressive looking A/T tire as well so I can get better highway mileage when I go on long trips this summer and winter. But like I said if I can get rid of these with half tread and make half my money I'll reinvest in them again.

What tires are you running right now? Satisfaction?

We just have no mud out here to speak of...

I am considering the Kumhos KL78s I believe they are -but not the MTs as that is just too knobby a tread in my opinion for limited off road usage.

Those are going to be loud loud loud, otherwise I have no bad things to say about them. They are certainly well priced but some have suggested you get what you pay for and they wear quickly. Read reviews at DiscountTireDirect.com and TireRack.com for a variety of opinions.
