Satisfaction! Finally took the Runner out to the lake. Drove right on in. Didn't take many pics, but plenty of video. I will extract some pics from that, and my pal who went with me with cut together a decent video. I will link it when it is ready.
Over severe washboard this truck+tires (nokian) is a dream.
With the lift I was able to clear all obstacles. I had my friend spot me in 3 locations, and now that I am comfortable I can do them without.
I made it a point to try some drivetrain combinations. Best case is 4x4 low, locked center diff. A couple spots where I needed ATRAC I recalled the info learnt here "keep rpm about 2500, steady, and let the truck do its thing". This made me uncomfortable in at least 1 spot. When traction came about, I was getting my wheel to the top of the root base of a tree, but needed to stop on the apex to make sure I didn't lean over and touch an obstacle on the other side. Until I get a better sense for this system I will have to be cautious.
