so how fast does someone post one of these people going offroad getting stuck deeper, rolling one on the side/roof, or not having a spotter and crunching the side into a rock/wall.

then someone saying, "but I had atpc" this shouldn't have happened.

You know, Ive always wondered about putting individual line locks on all 4 wheels that you can control in cab manually on an older T4R. Same as this, if you dont have lockers, pull the line lock for whichever tire has lost traction and is unloading your diff.

They're called cutting brakes. Frequently found on tractors and rock buggies. They don't use them to trick a diff into shifting power to the other wheel though, they've got lockers for that. They use them to lock one wheel up and pivot on it.

I'm thinking it'd be counterproductive. With one wheel locked up, there'd be too much drag and the other would break traction immediately. More effective to just use your brakes the way they sit, it can actually be pretty effective. You kinda have to three-foot it if you're a five speed, but light application of the brakes can slow the spinning wheel just enough to give the other one some power, and away you go. I've used that trick several times.

Or, just drop $275 on a Spartan or Aussie. Guaranteed to be more effective than line locks or ebrakes.
