Landcruiser rims on and painted

Thought I'd share my Duplicolor experience with the wheels, it took me about 12 hours but i didn't cut any corners. There are a few spots I need to fix but I'll be doing that next week.

Wheels look great and go really well with the truck. The Land Cruiser or LX450 wheels are the only wheels I will get rid of my Taco wheels for. I hope to pick some up in the future for sure.

looks good! I am assuming the pictures don't quite do the job justice. Did you use the gunmetal wheel spray?

That color looks great. I don't think you'll be missing your old rims much after seeing those. I'm surprised to be saying this considering how much I like the 5 stars but that looks so much better!

Haha thanks, I'm just working with what I have available right now. The good news is when you get my wheels you can do the same thing and I bet it will look just as sick, and now you have me to tell you what not to do instead of being the guinea pig like me.

Also, since the 5 spokes are painted surface and not aluminum (hence those damn chips) The prep work would yield a much higher quality adhesion, ultimately giving you a better, smoother coat overall

The pictures don't do it justice you're right. I'll try snapping an accurate picture if the light is right but its subtle but sparkly, abrasive but smooth texture. hard to describe, its easier if seen in person

no you don't have to describe it, i know what your talking about, i just used the exact same spray on my gauge bezel. I love that gunmetal because its not to blingy but its got a nice sparkle to it. i don't think you can take a good picture of that paint.

Those look really good. I'm considering doing the same thing. You just sanded, primed, and painted each wheel? How many coats of each?

Yeah just the basic procedures I was just extra anal about details it took me from 7-11:30 last night then 9-5 today to get them done...with a few breaks here and there.

I'm loving this wheel color to death so far, it's making me rethink my next purchase...I was going to get the oem lookalike led tails but seeing how my theme seems to be darkening I wonder if the smoked would be more appropriate..hmmm

Those look awesome! I'm contemplating between black and the color you used. Trying to figure out which will go better with my White Runner. After seeing yours I'm really leaning that way!
