Larger exhaust?

I'm planning on having a new muffler installed and I started wondering about how restrictive the stock 2.5" exhaust pipe is. Would there be any benefit to replacing the stock 2.5" pipe from the Y down with a larger pipe or is the 2.5" large enough as is to not be restrictive?

You don't need anything bigger than 2.5" pipe. It would be less restrictive, true, but you need backpressure in the exhaust for torque. You would feel a dramatic decrease there IMO. Save the 3" for the V8 monsters...
