Largest tire to fit as spare

Hi All,

I'd like to get everyone's experiences fitting larger than stock tires in the spare location.

1. What is the largest spare you were able to fit?
2. Did anyone modify the pulley / cradle system to fit larger tires?
3. Has anyone been able to fit a 285/75/16?


When answering please include the year, trim level, drive type and engine size. Not sure if these matter but it will help eliminate questions later.

265/70r17 is the largest that will fit on my truck, Its about an inch away from hitting the panrod bar,
