Last model year 2006/07?

To satisfy my own curiosity, I removed the narrow pannel in the cargo area that plugs the gap where the double decker cargo system is on other models. When I removed this pannel, I looked at the underside, and there is a little chart that shows when the pannel was produced. It lists 02, 03, 04, 05, and 06 down the left side, and the months across the top. Maybe this is an indication that Toyota only plans on keeping the 4th gen around for 1 or 2 more model years. That would be a bit shorter than previous gens, but it seems like everything is moving faster these days.

The 3rd gen lived from 96-02.....7 years, with a couple little facelifts and package changes. I would expect the same for the 4rth gen. The V8 motor and tranny were already done for 05, I would expect slight facelift in 06-07 and then 2 years more after that. So basically, 2008 at least fot the 4rth gen.

I would expect a redesign of the Tundra/Sequoia along with the Highlander (and even Rav4) before we see a major change to the 4Runner.

At this point, the 4Runner is Toyota's second freshest truck or SUV (behind the new Tacoma, of course).

I don't recall when the Tundra came out, but the Sequoia and Highlander were launched in '01, and I think the current Rav4 was introduced in 2000.
