Late Christmas??

So, after flirting with the idea of a new car, that quickly got tossed out the window. Even after looking at some new cars, I couldn't find something that matched the versatility and quality of the 4Runner.

Decided to go with some nice add-ons for the 4Runner instead.

Ordered the Dueler A/T Revo's (should be here by this weekend)

Nifty Catch-All Premium All-Weather Mats

Lastly, pulled the trigger on an HID kit from XenonDepot. I really missed HID's from my old car, and the Silverstars just don't cut it when it's wet out.

Once they're all in/on the truck I'll give a review of all of them.

XenonDepot

pbm,

Please post your impressions of the XenonDepot kit. I have been looking around at HID kits and plan to buy one once I get a 4Runner.

Did you purchase the Philips kit or the Xtreme HID kit? I have heard the Philips kit is the way to go for longevity.

Please post pics and any installation notes.

Costco called, tires are in, so i'm on the way to get those right now.

Lights should be here by wednesday. and yes, i'll update install info and impressions. Can't wait!! Oh, and yes i got the phillips kit, 4300K which is the highest output and this is the temp the OEM's use. Higher colors have bluer looks, but less light output.

I had also decided to buy the 4300K bulbs. Good luck on the install.

Lots of GX owners on clublexus.com have purchased from xenondepot.com. I have heard nothing but good things regarding the kits and the xenondepot business.

Yes it was after reading about all the GX owners that I decided to go with XenonDepot.

As for the tires, I think they're great. Roads were dry today, and they were fine on the drive back from costco (roughly 26 miles) Perhaps slightly bumpier ride, but that was expected, but it's still awesome. Some more snow should be headed here next week, and i'm sure they'll be great then too.

Update.

Revos continue to impress. Noticing the increased tire roar a little more, but it's all good.

The Nifty Mats are great, simple to put in. I really like that the rear mat stretches all the way across, covering up the carpet in the middle. I don't know why Toyota didn't use this design for their own mats. My dad's Land Cruiser and LX450 both had this design, as well as my mom's Sienna.

As for the HIDS. Install was a little trickier than anticipated. I was expecting just simple plug and play, snap in the bulbs and be on my way. Required grounding two wires - there are already ground locations on each side of the engine bay. And then hooking the power line to the positive terminal of the battery. I hate dealing with the battery...

But the results are great!! Definitely stronger than any halogen bulb, Silverstars included. The HID bulbs should last a long time too.

Additionally, ordered some LED bulbs to try and put in the turn signals and taillamps. I just love the quick on/off of LED taillights, but it'd cost too much to buy a whole new car.. haha I'll let you know how that goes, hopefully the bulbs will arrive within the week.

Do you have any pics of the beam pattern shining against a wall?

I just ordered my 4Runner and HID will be my first mod.

Thanks in advance.
