LCA alignment cams

Does anyone have a writeup on these? I have two replacement toyota tubes, and two cam kits which appear to both have overlapping parts and yet it appears I'm still missing parts. I've been trying to put all new hardware down there and it seems like after ordering over $100 in parts I still don't have everything.

Is there a good breakdown anywhere on how these parts all work together and the purposes of the various parts in the alignment cam kits?

Do I need to order all the parts in the above post, OR do the parts I have at the bottom totally replace the parts at the top?? This is so confusing. (parts top left are incomplete due to sawzall usage).

Should be a straight replacement. You should have a total of 6 distinct pieces per side

I need more clarification than that. The OEM technically has more than 6 "pieces" per side.

So is the kit I have replace all the OEM and I'm good to go, or do I still need more parts?

Okay after doing some more reading and looking at aftermarket kits, it appears that the kits I have replace and simplify the LCA mounting hardware. Front / rear is just the two plates and then a long bolt and nut. The plastic tube appears to be optional but useful for installation.

Do I have that right?

I haven't used this style of CAM bolt, I purchased OEM stuff. My guess is the plastic tube goes in between the bushing tubs and the bolt to prevent them from seizing together

You may find some of the information you're looking for in my writeup on replacing the LCA bushings, I replaced my cams as well when I did this: Whiteline Lower Control Arm Bushing Tutorial (120+ Pictures)

Heres is why the plastic piece is in between, the metal on metal will seize together if not lubricated every once in a while with a grease or something. I applied grease all over the shanks for my cam bolts to try and prevent and water from entering and corrosion occuring.

I actually already read your thread (a couple times). The info on the "intermedia plate" was helpful when taking things apart.

It looks like I've been overthinking this and I need to return the two OEM toyota tubes I bought ($22 a piece!), which are intended for use for the rest of the OEM hardware, and utilize only the parts that came in the two alignment cam kits.

I have to say, the OEM hardware seems way better, I wish I'd just ordered the handful of remaining parts and gone that direction.

If I have to dig back into this again I'll probably go with one of the permanent alignment kits though.
