I have 1997 SR5 4Runner. Driver's side LCA mount broke off while on highway and I am currently working on repairing it using a kit from Autorust. I am also going through many other things since I have the rear end, fuel tank, exhaust, etc. out to properly clean up the rust and finish the job. I have a few question of the rear training arms:
1. It appears that the ones I had have a hump on the side that connect to the LCA mount on the frame vs. the ones I got from eBay look identical on both sides. Are they interchangeable? I think I might have read somewhere that older models had this hump.
2. The original trailing arms appear to have bushings with different design and they look more like the aftermarket ones. Perhaps, they are not original. I haven't press them out yet.
3. The plan was to install new genuine Toyota bushings on the pair of trailing arms I got from eBay. I was able to press them out pretty easily but installing them was a bit more challenge. I am also wondering if they need to go in a specific orientation, since the original Toyota bushing appear to be designed allow some flex.
