Leaf springs, it's not what you think!

Okay so it is a little. I'm replacing the broken springs with OEM springs from a wrecker. Problem is I need to remove the old bushings from the new springs. I read something on a different site about prying where the bushing eyelet closes and just sliding them out. But there is an inner ring that would prevent this from doing working that's tack welded in. Anyone run into this? I've gone at em with a sledge for a good long while with no luck.

If a hammer dosent make em talk, burn'em....

Pry the eyelet out then the bushing. Lots of breakfree or WD40

If you do melt them out do NOT get the spring to hot.

They're not tack welded, they're rusted. If the BFH doesn't work a torch will help, and/or a press.

Tried a press today. with no luck. did manage to get a couple bushings out just with a pry bar though. Wednesday comes the torch.
