Leaking upper balljoint noises

Hi so i have been having a noise in the drivers front suspension when going over bumps or potholes.
My upper balljoint is leaking and im wondering if the noise caused from a leaking balljoint sounds similar to two washers hitting against each other, sounds like metal clinking?

I had this issue on the passenger side for a couple years.
turns out is was from the brake pads sliding up or down in the caliber just a bit. I added a second one of those springs to hold the pad back and that took care of it.

I had a very similar noise and it turned out that the skid plate underneath was loose.
