Learned a Lesson from Wheel Spacers

I dont doubt that many people have run wheel spacers and had no issues with them. But its very possible that the spacers were CONTRIBUTING to warping your rotors. By adding space between the rotor and hub you will magnify any vibrations coming the spinning components (wheel bearings, wheels, tires out of balance, bad rotors or pads, alignment).

Apparently, people have forgotten how Hubs, Wheel Studs, Lug nuts, and Torque specs work.

While wheel spacers can add FELT wheel instability under braking. It is highly doubtful, that a spacer that is out of spec, and would be a direct cause of the brakes warping. Most spacers are cut on lathes, with DRO's in use. This actually CUTS manufacturing costs, by not needing a QA step.

There are way more variables involved, than a simple spacer that would cause vibration. Hell the simple fact alone that Toyota recommends our rotors to be cut ON vehicle to minimize run-out and warp-age, is a damn good indicator of such. Not to mention if the OP was 2-3 ft pound off the SPACER spec for torque, could be a huge contributing factor. Too many variables to simply blame one part.
