Leather Seats ? Opinions

Has anyone re-done the Leather Interior, I would like to see pics.. I have been looking at Katzkins and other brands. I have called some shops and installation is around 100.00 Per Seat in my area (Labor only). Is it really that difficult ? I'm talking complete new leather, not seat covers. I suppose the hog ring pliers is only tools needed.

I was quoted $1500 for all of it. Front. Rear. Arm rests. Door trim. Installed. I love it and may have to shell out the cash. But there are other priorities. I am in SoCal

That sounds like a rip off to me. It isn't that hard to install, you could do it with some needle nose pliers. I wouldn't pay someone to install them.

also... there was some ebay replacement leather seats (leather only) I had seen before. They were a pretty close match.

its the bottom portion of the drivers seat, but I want to replace all the leather so it matches.

Have you though about finding a used passenger seat bottom (typically a lot less wear and fewer ass miles) and swapping it into your driver drivers seat? I ended up swapping mine out.

This is an awesome idea. I wanted to do the same thing as OP but this sounds much cheaper. Anything special you have to do to the cover when it is swapped over? Or is it literally just the same cover.

On my '97 I swapped the entire seat bottom. The passengers side temporarily been a cloth seat bottom from another set while I get the one panel from the old drivers side replaced (that was 2 years ago, so maybe not so temporary anymore).

Not sure if the seat bottom swap is possible on the newer 3rd gens...

For 1500, you could buy 2 new front seats. Cushion and all.
Toyota charges about 500 just for the leather covers but about 700 pre assembled with the cushions.

This is the thought I'm mulling over.
If I'm going to replace dried & cracked 16 year old leather, shouldn't I replace 16 year old compressed foam cushions as well?

I swapped the whole bottom, cushion and cover all assembled. Technically the passenger and driver bottoms are different part numbers but it is very hard to spot any difference even when compared side by side.

Im looking for leather also except I'm starting with cloth seats and tan interior. Dirty tan interior lol. So I'm basically looking to completely replace interior.
OPTIONS
1. Used oem leathers from a wrecking yard or part out
2. Pay a shop for re-upholstery
3. Katskinz
4. Precision fit covers to cover up dirty tan haha
5. Find other leathers (acura,lexus,anything black or neutral shade) and "attach" to stock rails for install...found writeup on this forum....
As for carpet...idk...would like an fj rubber floor fit for a 4runner or maybe a jcwhit oereplacement carpet (black,grey) with some weathertech liners (black)
Actually I would like to strip down body and spray in/out surface with lizzard skin thermal and acoustic insulation then coated in monstaliner for complete soft-armor layer lol

I just did an interior swap with my 2002 SR5 and a 2000 Limited. Talked the guy into selling the entire interior for $290. It was on CL for $350. But he was almost 2 hours away and I went 100% of the way. I then went and sold my cloth interior for $250.
I paid $40 to reupholster my truck.
