Leather Seats?

If I order a 2006 SR5 T4R and go with the Leather Faced Seats option, will it be the same leather that is in the limited? Does it look and feel the same? I have seen the "port installed" leather seats in a 2005 Tacoma which are the "Liquicell" and they look very nice. Does anyone have a SR5 with the optional leather seats? Need some help before I order mine in a couple of weeks!:driving:

I think Port Installed

Having read a lot of the posts about leather aftermarket seats, I think the concensus is that only the Limited gets factory installed leather. All other leather seating options for the other 4runner trim lines (SR5 and Sport) are port installed, or dealer installed (or subcontracted to upholstery shops by dealers).

I don't know about look and feel, but they don't have the same kind of leather seat. The Limited has actual stitched leather wrapped seats. The other trims have leather seat covers. You will see a zipper at the back of the seat.

Does anyone have a leather trim diagram for the 4Runner?

I remember someone posting a chart that showed which parts are leather and which parts are vinyl.

For instance, the seating face of the front seats is all leather, but in the rear only a small portion of the seat bottom and a small portion of the lower back is leather.
The rest is a very leather-lookalike vinyl.

I remember that whoever posted it was a Toyota salesperson.

I have the port-installed Liquicell leather seats in my Sport. They are very nice and I always get compliments on them. They are not the same leather as in the Limited. They do not feel the same or look the same. Check out my cardomain site to see pictures.

I have port installed leather in my sport "leather seat surface" is what it says next to the *on the window sticker. They look and feel nice but the driver's seat is showing some wear on the seating surface. The seat just has some wrinkles and creases in the leather. The rest of the seats look, and have held up well to many hunting and fishing trips, 2 year old boy, and an 80 lb. lab. Spills and dog hair wipe off easy!
There are no zippers on my seats.

I made a quick diagram show where the seats are leather using photoshop so everybody can see. The vinyl looks exactly like leather and you would not know the difference unless you actually touched it. Almost every car company, including the luxury ones, do this as well.

Leather Seats

I have an 05 4runner 4x4 sport with port leather as well. My dealer told me that port leather is more durable than factory leather. I never owned a vehicle with leather and want it to last. Any tips on what to use to keep it in top shape like meguiars or lexol? Would it be a good idea to put some seat covers on them like the ones made my www.wetokole.com? I know it probably sounds silly putting seat covers on the leather seats, but i want them to last and look good when trade in time rolls around. Your inout would be greatly appreciated.

I would not cover them. You bought the leather for a reason so you might as well use it.

The front seats are correct, except for the headrests, which are vinyl.

The rear seats, however are wrong.

If I recall correctly, only the portions highlighted in green are leather. Everything else is vinyl.
