Greetings everyone, long time lurker first time poster. I Recently purchased an 07 SR5 4X4 V6. I'm very impressed with this vehicle thus far. The dealer that I purchased this rig from had a leather interior and sunroof installed. However they failed to change out the steering wheel and shifter cover. It is a hard rubber wheel without audio controls. Has anyone swapped out steering wheels? I went to the dealer for the first 5000 miles oil change and was quoted a $795.00 price for a steering wheel. Any help out there would be appreciated.:awais:

Most leather interior kits don't include changing the steering wheel or the shift knob.
Sadly, it won't be cheap to install a leather steering wheel. The cheapest way is to scour eBay for an off chance that someone has one for sale. There are numerous places that sell a leather/wood wheel for around $300. Another alternative is to have your current wheel wrapped in leather. This usually costs about $300 depending on what company does it. Check out www.american-stitches.com Changing the steering wheel isn't a big problem. If you plan to add the audio controls, that brings up another issue. A new airbag is required to get the audio controls to fit correctly.
As far as the shift knob, it's cheaper. I've seen lots of eBay auctions for leather shift knobs from the 2007+ Camry's. Those will fit with some modifications to the base (you just need to file down the notches at the bottom).

You just have to make sure that each stitch is perfect and pulled tight. It took me at least an hour to do each one but it looked pretty good in the end, especially for the price.

Yeah the stock leather wheel is a rip if you want to buy one. Ebay would be your best bet to find one that may have been swapped out for a leather/wood one. I've seen a few now and then.
IMO any leather aftermarket wrap never looks as good as the original. Now finding one with a volume control could be pretty tricky. I'm not sure the airbags are the same for both models. If not that's going to be another crazy overpriced item.
